MeforTerms of Service
Welcome to Mefor. By using the apps or the sync service you agree to these terms. If the Chinese and English versions differ, the Chinese version prevails.
1. The service
Mefor provides recording, on-device transcription, speaker diarization, hotwords, search, export, and optional multi-device sync and AI notes (with your own API key).
2. Purchase and licence
Mefor is a one-time purchase with no subscription, bought through the App Store or Google Play; refunds follow that store's rules. With sync on, your purchase can be restored on your other devices. Multi-device sync is currently free; if that changes we'll tell you in advance, and you'll always be able to export your data.
3. Lawful use
- Get consent from the people you record and follow local law on recording, call recording and personal data.
- Don't record, store or distribute illegal content or infringe others' privacy, trade secrets or intellectual property.
- Don't interfere with, attack or abuse the sync service (including mass sign-ups, bypassing rate limits or trying to access others' data).
4. Content review and enforcement
For account users with upload on, the platform may review uploaded content under the account terms. Where we find illegal content we may delete the recording, restrict sync, freeze or ban the account, and notify you in the app; where required by law we cooperate with competent authorities. Data synced without sign-up is end-to-end encrypted and we cannot see it.
5. Third-party services
AI notes are provided by the third-party AI provider you choose; its fees, availability and data handling are governed by its terms.
6. Your data
What you upload and create belongs to you; you can export or delete it at any time. Keep backups of what matters — for example your 24-word recovery code for sync without sign-up: if you lose all devices and the code, that data cannot be recovered.
7. Disclaimer
Automatic transcription, diarization and AI notes can be wrong; don't rely on them alone for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions. The service is provided as is and, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses.
8. Changes and termination
We may update these terms and will flag significant changes in the app. You may stop using Mefor and delete your account at any time; we may stop providing sync to you if you seriously breach these terms.
