Frequently asked questions
Does transcription need the internet?
No. Live captions and the refined transcript are both produced on your device after a one-time model download. Only AI notes go online, through your own API key.
Can I sync devices without creating an account?
Yes. Turn on "sync without sign-up": Apple devices on the same Apple ID join automatically, other devices scan a pairing QR code or enter the 24-word recovery code. It's end-to-end encrypted — we can't see your content.
Is sync also a backup?
Yes. Your data stays on your device by default; once you turn on sync it is uploaded encrypted, which keeps your devices in step and is also your cloud backup. If you change or lose a device, pair the new one by QR code, enter your 24-word recovery code, or sign in to your account to restore everything.
If I create an account, can you see my data?
Creating an account uploads nothing. Only when you turn on "upload & sync" is the content you upload (transcripts, notes, AI notes, and audio if you enable it) stored on our servers, where the platform may lawfully review it; every access records who, when and why. With upload off nothing syncs and we see nothing. See the account terms.
Which languages are supported?
Mandarin Chinese, English, and conversations that mix the two.
Do AI notes cost extra?
Not from us. They use the API key you enter, billed by your AI provider for what you use.
Can I record phone calls?
iOS and Android don't allow recording calls directly. Always get consent before recording and follow local law.
When can I download it?
We're in pre-release testing; download links will appear on this page at launch.
